37 Week Ultrasound

I had a doctor appointment this afternoon. It started with a non-stress test. The baby did great which was a huge relief. I'm convinced that it must be used to being jostled around when Kyler is jumping all over me and doesn't respond to that anymore. After that was the ultrasound. The baby's estimated weight is 5 pounds 13 ounces. So they are thinking it will be almost 7 pounds at birth. The heart rate was 152. It is head down and at least one foot appears to be right at the top of my stomach. The baby's bottom is against my left side, toward the top. Finally I met very briefly with the doctor. Since I haven't had any contractions she decided not to even check me so it is doubtful that I am even dilated at all. She said to continue to monitor the baby's movement each day and if it continues to be less and less she may decide to deliver early.

The baby did move a lot more this afternoon which may have been because we were driving - he or she seems to move a lot when I am in the car for whatever reason. Hopefully the baby continues to move frequently to avoid another scare like this morning, although I will probably not be nearly as freaked out if there is a next time since it has happened before and everything was fine.  I am now hoping that these last two weeks go very quickly so we can meet this little one and hopefully know that he or she has made it into the world safely and healthily.
