25 Week Ultrasound

I had a checkup on Friday (one day short of 25 weeks pregnant). I went alone for this one as Brett is going to try to make every-other one from here out. The ultrasound was a lot of fun although we have reached the point where it is more difficult to get the whole picture now. The baby was putting his/her hands next to the head and had the legs crossed at the ankle directly in front of the face. We saw the baby moving its mouth and sticking out its tongue too. We never were able to see much of Kyler's face in the womb since he always had his hands in front of his face so that was neat. The baby is in a breech position and all the way on the left side, looking out to the left. As soon as I laid down, the technician had asked if the baby was on my left side. She could tell by my belly. I can too a little when I am standing and look straight down. The heart rate was 153 and the baby is measuring 2 days behind which is fine. She estimated the baby to be around 1.5 pounds (much less than the 15 pounds I have gained which is also on target).

Lately there has been quite a bit of movement and my belly continues to expand. Even maternity pants are becoming uncomfortable as the bands squeeze at the bottom and I think make the baby uncomfortable as I usually feel a lot of movement when sitting. My lower back still gives me some problems especially when I am up and around a lot and now it is radiating more to my left hip joint. It's not horrible but something I didn't have with Kyler and it can make it very difficult to get up from lying down at times. I asked the doctor and she said it should go away within a few weeks of delivering, but would probably be replaced by upper back pain while I'm nursing.

The nursery is pretty much ready. Brett still needs to hang blinds and put up the shelving in the closet. But we have gone through a lot of the baby stuff and bought a couple of neutral outfits in case it is a girl. We still need to go over and get some things we stored at my grandma's house. I think the main thing is the swing and I need to figure out where we put the car seat.
