Baby Movements and Other Things

Have I mentioned that this kid can move? It comes and goes but sometimes I am just getting kicked like crazy. I think it's mostly when I'm in a position that's uncomfortable to the baby - sitting with a tighter waistband or lying on my back and sometimes on my right side. There seems to be the least movement when I am standing or lying on my left side. So apparently he or she isn't a huge fan of being upside down? The baby is now big enough to make the movements uncomfortable rather than just a fun faint feeling but not yet big enough to cause me pain. I'm sure those rib-kicking days are coming though. Regardless, it is still fun and a great reassurance that things seem to be going well in there.

My tummy has been growing more and more. Since my parents came back from about a 10 day trip they say there is a pretty notable difference. I am solely wearing maternity clothes at this point and some of my bigger, baggier shirts. I can only fit into regular pants with the belly band so I can leave them completely undone. I haven't noticed a lot of difference in other areas of my body which is good, although I think part of the reason is that not everything completely went back down after Kyler was born.

Overall I've been feeling pretty good. Being out in the heat can drain me faster than normal and I get a lower back ache (something that never really happened during my previous pregnancy) when I am doing much physical stuff like housework or a lot of walking. I also seem to get full faster, maybe because of the increasing lack of space. One of the strangest things is that I don't have near as much of a sweet tooth as I normally do.

I have been thinking more about whether we should find out definitively whether it's a girl or a boy and I am now leaning toward keeping it a surprise. The more I think about it, the more I am not convinced that we saw what we think we saw. I think we're oversimplifying things and even with what I thought was visual evidence (or at least a greater probability) of having a girl, I still have this feeling that it's going to be a boy. I think the nicest thing about knowing would be not having to pick out two names. But I think it will be a fun surprise for everyone to wait. We'll see how many times I change my mind between now and the beginning of December.

Oh, I cant imagine how uncomfortable it is being pregnant in the horrible summer heat we've been having!

Good deal keeping the surprise!

I think you should keep it a surprise. I found out with Landon but I wanted to because there was so much unknown since I had never been preg before. But the second time around I want it to be a surprise. I'm sure it would drive me crazy, but what a surprise!
