Baptism

We finally found time to catch our breath and get Myelle baptized on August 25th. We sent out invitations to our closest family members. Even Myelle's Great Grandma Rita made it to the baptism when she was very weak from her recent chemo treatment. It was very special to have her there as her faith is one that the whole family looks up to and she logged a lot of prayer hours for this little one. She's an amazing woman.

I had to put this poem on the back of the invitation since Myelle was such a blessing and a miracle. Without God, there would be no Myelle. If nothing else, I needed that extra divine intervention to keep me going emotionally after so many failed fertility treatments. Thanks, big guy! We will do our best to help her become the person you designed her to be.

A precious baby girl,
The Lord has blessed us with
Sent down to us from heaven,
God's precious little gift
We pray we'll know God's leading
As we raise this precious life,
So she will come to know the Lord
And walk with Jesus Christ.

Myelle slept through the last part of mass and the first part of her baptism.

But she knew this was too good to miss. She was cool with having water poured on her head. Probably the most patient she's ever been having water poured on her head.

She really enjoyed the baptismal candle.

Myelle's Christening outfit was one that my Grandma Cleta made for her children. My dad wore it, I wore it, and both of my kids wore it. I love that it was handmade and has so much sentimental value. This is also the same church that we have all been baptized in. It was recently renovated and is breathtakingly beautiful now.

Myelle's official Godparents are Brett's dad and my mom. But all of the grandparents are her honorary Godparents and will do their best to shape her to be a better Christian.

I sort of hate this picture of her and her cake. It makes her look like she's three years old or something. But it is super cute.

And here is her party dress for the reception. We had a great day and loved that we were able to spend it with family.

A big thanks to Sandy (Anything Creative Studio) for being the photographer!!!
