Okay, we are officially at the age where the fast growing can stop! I was ready for Myelle to be through the constant crying newborn stage but now she is just the happiest little baby most of the time. Okay, so she's not the littlest baby around but she is definitely happy. She is suddenly wearing 9 month clothes at 6 months... yikes! She has the cutest baby chub. Her thighs are chunky and have lots of rolls and her cheeks are so kissable. She finally decided last week at Grandma's to start rolling back to front. She definitely took her time on that one. She's nursing a lot less and eating a lot more baby food and even quite a bit more table food. She loves her big girl food. Last night Grandma, Papa, Mama, and Dada were all tearing up pieces of table food and shoving them in her mouth and we still weren't fast enough for the little bug. She's getting a lot better at picking up pieces of food and getting them into her mouth.
It's unbelievable how easy it is to get this baby to smile and laugh. Kyler was so serious as a baby, he rarely laughed and you had to really work for a big smile. You just have to look at Myelle and she smiles, and a little tickle or peek-a-boo is enough for some giggles. She is becoming more and more lovable each and every day. Besides Mama and Grandma, she definitely prefers men. And if she's not getting the attention she wants, she will let you know about it. She will stare down her papa until he starts talking and playing with her.
She is also learning the word "no" and shows us a sensitive side. The other day she was sitting in the driveway playing with a leaf. She would try to eat it and I would gently pull it away and say, "noooo, that's not food." After a few times, just hearing me say no would cause her to start bawling with real tears and everything. I think it was that her feelings were hurt. :( Hopefully we can lay the hammer down with this little princess when we need to. I can only imagine how this is going to go when she is Kyler's age. Eek!
By far the best thing is seeing her and Kyler interact. They love each other SO much. I hope they always have the bond they have now. In the car, they will just sit and laugh at one another. When Myelle wakes up, Kyler hears her and runs into her room to turn the lights on. Then he will come and tell me, "Myelle is awake. Go get her!" Even as I write this, they are both lying on the floor on their backs when the tops of their heads touching, their hands waving around and hitting one another. She is laughing so hard and he is giggling too. Love, love, love!
