ONE

Myelle turned a year old this week. We celebrated on her actual birthday by going out to dinner at Freddy's, the local pizza establishment. She had a blast playing in the kids' playhouse they have. I made her a little cake to dig into and she did just that. She was a mess! We also had a party this weekend. The theme was "Little Golden Books" and turned out pretty cute (okay, I may be biased). I'll post more on that later, but I will say there are very few pictures (but lots of video), the girl loves clothes, and that she was much less into her cake.

Myelle is walking very well now. She pretty much runs and tries to jump (and has on a bed). One of her favorite things to do is dance. She's got some interesting dance moves. I'm not sure who taught her to grind those hips but it is quite hilarious... at this age. She is also very into climbing. She will try anything and if she falls, she will try again until she masters it. She is wanting to master walking down the stairs right now which is obviously quite dangerous.

Her favorite things to play with are the play kitchen set, and recently she has started getting into dolls and stuffed animals. She also loves playing with containers and lids. They keep her very focused and busy for a long time. She loves balls - carrying them around, throwing them, and bouncing them on the kitchen floor. She seems to be taking some more interest in books which is good.

She is sleeping through the night most nights. Once in a while we will have to get up and help her locate her pacifier. She has a favorite blanket (white, soft, and fluffy) and stuffed animal (white, soft, and fluffy kitty - a Ty brand named Champagne). And she has to have her binky with the lamb attached to it (also white). I'm hoping she doesn't get too attached to any of these items since they are white and are bound to get pretty nasty looking at some point. She goes to sleep with a bottle. Sometimes we rock her to sleep and other times we let her lie in her bed with a bottle and put her paci where she can find it.

Myelle is wearing 18 month clothes and size 3 diapers. She is 22 pounds and will be moving to a convertible car seat (from the bucket carrier) as soon as we get the additional one that we ordered. She is in the 75th percentile for weight and 50th to 75th percentile for height at 29.5 inches. Myelle is very attached to her mama and Grandma Debbie (who takes care of her everyday).

She is a very very verbal baby. She now says "uh oh spaghettio" extremely clear for her age. It has become her catch phrase. She is also very social. She will go up to anyone and say "hi" or "hello" and give them a big smile. She loves attention and shows off when she realizes she has an audience oooh-ing and ahhh-ing at her.

She is so cute and fun right now. She can be a bit of a pain wanting me to hold her and carry her around. And she does have a quick temper and tests the heck out of the word "no." But overall, she is a blast and a joy to be around. She keeps us smiling and laughing and definitely completes our family. Kyler is so protective of her and they have a very special bond. They rough house like the best of them and get irritated about sharing toys, but if one is crying the other one is very concerned and you will find them loving on each other often.
