10 Months

We are at the 10 month mark. Only 2 more months until we have a one-year-old. *tear*

Myelle has been standing, crawling faster than ever, and is attempting to climb (her short stature makes this difficult). She has two teeth (on the bottom) and is now on whole milk instead of formula and eats table food. She drinks milk with her meals and then has about 6 ounces before each nap/bedtime, and sometimes an extra few ounces throughout the day. She has finally figured out how to hold a sippy cup and drink out of it. She had been holding her own bottles but for some reason had a hard time with sippy cups, maybe just because of the size? She is a big eater unless it's a vegetable and she continues to grow. She is about completely grown out of her 9 month clothes, is growing out of her 12 month clothes, and has started wearing some 18 month clothes. She is wearing size 3 diapers.

She has been starting to say words which is just crazy. Most of it is just repeating sounds and inflection but she is definitely starting to have a vocabulary. Here are the words/phrases she says (or at least gets close to saying):
uh oh
mama (now she has started calling me meemee)
dada
Frazier (my parents dog - more like "ay-za")
papa
nana (there are various versions of grandma)
Kyler (pronounced more like "I-ya")
bye bye
baa baa (sheep noise)
moo
woof woof (her own version)
I love you (kind of an "I ya you")
oh well
where are you (gibberish while repeating the inflection until the "you")
num num (food!)
doggie
Baxter (takes on various sounds depending on the day)

She has been pretty consistently sleeping through the night, probably 5 of 7 nights which is great. Her schedule is that she gets up around 7 or so, then goes down for a morning nap a couple hours later, then an afternoon nap around 2, then bedtime about 8:30. She usually has a bottle or gets rocked/sang to before falling asleep. Sometimes I have to pat her back and sing or shush her until she falls alseep completely in her crib. She always has to have her pacifier to go to sleep.

Since she has been more mobile, she has gotten lots of "ouchies." She bumps her head and falls quite often when climbing around under the kitchen table and places like that. She smashed the tip of her finger in the kitchen cabinets one day and it was the first time she was bleeding from hurting herself (but she was fine after a few minutes). She's not a gentle little girl. She is constantly grabbing, pulling, pinching, hitting, and scratching her brother and I. I've started to discipline her more on that now that she's old enough to learn. She hates hearing "no" and will cry, scream, and roll around on the floor when she doesn't get her way. A baby tantrum... probably not a good sign for the future. She does like to tease though and will come up and slap your leg and smile until you say, "who's getting me?" It's one of her favorite games.

Her favorite thing right now is probably farm animals. She loves to play with the Little People barn and lots of small toy animals, reads farm animal books a lot, and plays with farm animal puzzles. It seems that the horse is her current favorite. She also loves the play kitchen set which we recently moved into her room. She pulls herself up to the sink and bangs around with the dishes and food, opens and closes the doors, and gets out the cookies and dishes and plays away.
